This community is surrounded by thick forests. You can find the Riley Creek Recreation Area and the Pend Oreille Wildlife Management Area just a short distance southwest of Laclede. A big part of Laclede is the Laclede Mill, which is owned by the Idaho Forest Group. This mill cuts and prepares different types of wood, like Douglas fir, Cedar, and White Pine, which are then sent all over the world.
