Lahoma is a small town located in Garfield County, Oklahoma, in the United States. In 2020, about 539 people lived there. The town's name is quite interesting because it comes from the last three syllables of "Oklahoma."
For a long time, until the 1960s, Lahoma was mainly a farming town. But over time, it changed. Now, many people who live in Lahoma travel to work in the nearby city of Enid. This means Lahoma has become a "bedroom community," where people sleep and live but often work somewhere else.

Lahoma was established in 1894. This happened after a big event called the Cherokee Outlet land run in 1893. During this land run, people raced to claim land.
Interestingly, the town wasn't always in its current spot. It was first built about a mile away. But in 1901, all the buildings, businesses, and homes were moved to where Lahoma is today. This move happened so the town could be right next to a new railroad line. Having a railroad nearby was very important for towns back then, as it helped with transportation and trade.
