Lake Brook is a small river, also known as a brook, found in Otsego County, New York. It plays an important role in the local water system. This brook connects several natural features, including two lakes, as it flows through the landscape.

Journey of Lake Brook

Lake Brook begins its journey in a field located northwest of the village of Laurens. From its starting point, the brook flows generally south.

Flowing Through Lakes

As it continues its path, Lake Brook first flows into a beautiful body of water called Lake of the Twin Fawns. After passing through this lake, the brook exits and changes its direction slightly, flowing southeast.

The brook then reaches another lake, Gilbert Lake. It flows into this lake and then exits it, continuing its journey.

Joining Otego Creek

After leaving Gilbert Lake, Lake Brook keeps flowing southeast. Its journey ends when it meets and joins the Otego Creek. This meeting point is located east of the village of Laurens.

Lake Brook helps carry water from its source through the lakes and eventually into Otego Creek, which is part of a larger network of rivers and streams in the area.
