Lake Park is a small city located in Dickinson County, Iowa, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,167 people lived there. Just west of the city, you can find Trappers Bay State Park, a great place for outdoor activities.

Discovering Lake Park's Past
Lake Park began its journey in 1882. This was when the Burlington, Cedar Rapids and Northern Railway built its tracks through the area. The city officially became a town in 1892.
Over the years, Lake Park saw many changes. A new movie theater, the State Theatre, opened on January 1, 1931. In 1942, a strong tornado caused damage to many farm buildings nearby. The city improved its services by building a new water treatment plant in 1970. Lake Park also got its own ambulance service in September 1980.
In 2002, voters in the Harris–Lake Park School District decided to build a new school. They approved a $4 million plan for a new educational building on the south side of Lake Park. This project also included plans for a new community center, a shared public and school library, and new sports fields. The new community center officially opened its doors in 2003.
