How Lake Pleasant Got Its Name
Long ago, the community of Lake Pleasant was sometimes known by a different name: "Sageville." This name came from a man named Hezekiah Sage. He built a hotel in the area and tried to rename the whole community after himself. However, the name "Lake Pleasant" eventually stuck.
