Sacandaga Lake (say "sa-kuhn-DAH-ga") is a beautiful lake found in Hamilton County, New York. It is about 2 miles (3.2 km) west of a town called Speculator. The water from Sacandaga Lake flows into Lake Pleasant. This is where the Sacandaga River begins its journey.
This lake is quite large, covering an area of about 1,608 acres (651 ha). That's like more than 1,200 football fields! Sacandaga Lake is entirely inside the amazing Adirondack Park in New York. The lake is usually about 28 feet (8.5 m) deep, but in some spots, it can be deeper than 50 feet (15 m). The lake sits high up, at an altitude of about 1,725 feet (526 m) above sea level.

Fishing in Sacandaga Lake
Sacandaga Lake is a great spot for fishing! Many different kinds of fish live here. You might catch brown trout or brook trout. There are also smallmouth bass, walleye, and pickerel. Another common fish is the brown bullhead.
For people who want to go fishing, there's a special public area. It has plenty of parking space for about 30 trucks and their boat trailers. This makes it easy to get your boat into the water and start fishing.
