Lake Tobesofkee is a large reservoir (an artificial lake) located in Bibb County, Georgia, in the state of Georgia. It was built in the 1960s to help control flooding. Today, it's a very popular spot for outdoor fun and is known as one of the best lakes for fishing in Georgia.

How Lake Tobesofkee Was Made
Lake Tobesofkee was created between 1963 and 1967. The U.S. Soil Conservation Service and local Bibb County leaders worked together. They built several dams on Tobesofkee Creek. These dams helped create the lake to stop floods. People who live nearby often call the lake by its shorter names, "Tobi" or "Tobo."

Lake Tobesofkee Recreation Area is easy to get to, just three miles from I-475. It has three public parks where you can have a great time: Claystone, Sandy Beach, and Arrowhead.
