Graciela Belén González Mendoza (born December 27, 1986), known as Lali González, is a talented actress from Paraguay. She has starred in theatre plays, TV shows, and movies. Lali became famous for her role as Liz in the award-winning Paraguayan film 7 Boxes.

Lali is well-known for her acting in films from Paraguay, Argentina, Colombia, and Honduras. She was one of the first Paraguayan actresses to play a main role using a different accent from her own. This happened in the Argentinian film El Jugador. Because of this movie, she became the first Paraguayan actress to be featured on the streaming platform Netflix.

In April 2022, Lali was nominated for a Martín Fierro award. This was for her role as a leading actress in the Argentine TV show La 1-5/18 on the El Trece network.

Early Life and Training

Lali González mainly trained to be a stage actress. She finished her studies at the El Estudio theatre school in 2010. She also earned a law degree from the Universidad Católica Nuestra Señora de la Asunción.

Television Roles

Lali first appeared on screen in 2010. She played the main character in the second episode of the TV series La Herencia de Caín. This series was directed by Agustín Núñez, a Paraguayan film and theatre director.

Film Appearances

Lali started acting in movies in 2010. She played Liz in the Paraguayan film 7 Boxes. This movie was nominated for a Goya Award and shown at over 25 international film festivals. It was released in many different countries.

Since 2012, Lali has continued to work in the film industry. That year, she played Irma in Lectura según Justino, a movie made by Paraguay and Argentina. It was directed by Arnaldo André and featured famous Argentinian actors like Julieta Cardinali.

She also appeared in other Latin American films. She was cast in movies made in Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, and Honduras. In 2013, she worked with Argentinian director Daniel Gagliano in El hijo buscado. Later that year, she was part of the Colombian film Revenge strategy.

In 2014, Lali joined the cast of the Paraguayan film Luna de cigarras. She also performed in Mangoré, a Paraguayan film directed by Luis Vera from Chile. In this movie, she acted alongside the well-known Mexican actor Damián Alcázar.

In October 2014, Lali represented Paraguay as a jury member. She judged the "Fiction Feature Film" category at the First Film Festival of the Three Borders in Misiones, Argentina.

In 2015, she was cast in the Honduran film A Place in the Caribbean. She starred with actors like Gastón Pauls and José Zúñiga.

Her work also includes the Argentinian film El jugador (2016). In this movie, she acted with Pablo Rago. When El jugador became available on Netflix in July 2018, Lali became the first Paraguayan actress to appear on the popular streaming platform. She also starred in the Paraguayan film La Redención (2018). This "road movie" combines a modern story with scenes from the Chaco War. Lali plays Marlene, a young woman who drives her grandfather on a trip to help him remember his war experiences.

Lali also appeared in the 2018 Argentinian-Paraguayan movie Gracias Gauchito. She was also in the Argentinian film Los que vuelven.

Theatre Performances

In theatre, Lali is an actress and also a producer. She has produced successful plays like Recién casados (2013) and Rostros sagrados (2013–14 and 2016). Her play Veridicas (2017) was based on videos she made for her YouTube channel. Lali was also part of the Paraguayan cast for the international play Toc Toc, which first showed in Paraguay in 2014.

Personal Life

In 2016, Lali married Walter Riveros, a music producer from Paraguay. In 2019, they welcomed their first child, a daughter named Rafaela.
