Lalo Ríos (born February 7, 1927 – died March 7, 1973) was an actor from Mexico who became famous in America. He is best known for playing the main character, Tommy, in the 1952 movie The Ring.

Lalo Ríos was born on February 7, 1927, in a place called San Miguelito, Sonora, Mexico. When he was nine years old, his family moved to East Los Angeles, California. He went to Abraham Lincoln High School and graduated there.

Starting His Acting Career

Lalo Ríos first started working as a carpenter. Then, he got his very first acting job in a movie from Paramount called The Lawless (1950). In this film, Lalo played a young Mexican character who faced unfair treatment in a small town. This movie helped him begin a career that lasted almost twenty years.

His Most Famous Role

In 1952, Lalo Ríos got his most well-known role. He played "Tommy" in the movie The Ring (1952). He was the main actor and hero in this film. He also appeared in other important movies like Big Leaguer (1953) and Touch of Evil (1958). His last movie role was in 1962, in a film called Lonely Are the Brave.

Moving to Television

After his movie career, Lalo Ríos started focusing on television shows. He was already familiar with TV, having appeared in Westinghouse Desilu Playhouse in 1958. Even though he was only in two episodes of that show, it helped him find more TV work. After 1966, he acted in several television series. These included Laredo (1966) and Marcus Welby, M.D. (1968). Marcus Welby was the last TV series he worked on before he stopped acting on American television.

Lalo Ríos passed away in Los Angeles on March 7, 1973.
