Lamman Rucker (born October 6, 1971) is an American actor. He is known for his roles in TV shows and movies. Lamman Rucker started acting in popular daytime soap operas. These include As the World Turns and All My Children.
He also appeared in the TV miniseries The Temptations. Later, he starred in Tyler Perry's movies Why Did I Get Married? and Why Did I Get Married Too?. He played Will Brown in the 2008 film Meet the Browns. He continued this role in its TV show version. Since 2016, he has been Jacob Greenleaf in the Oprah Winfrey Network drama Greenleaf. In 2022, he began starring in the BET+ drama The Black Hamptons.

Early Life and Acting Start
Lamman Rucker was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His parents are Malaya and Eric Rucker. He has some family roots from Barbados. Lamman grew up in the Washington, D.C. and Maryland areas.
He became interested in acting after being in several child pageants. His very first acting role was playing Martin Luther King in the 4th grade. He joined the drama club in 7th grade. He went to high school at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C. After high school, Lamman Rucker studied at Carnegie-Mellon University and Duquesne University.
Lamman Rucker's Acting Career
Lamman Rucker has appeared in many short films and TV movies. His first big acting role was in 2002. He played attorney T. Marshall Travers on the CBS soap opera As the World Turns. He acted alongside Tamara Tunie.
He left that show the next year. In 2005, he played Garret Williams on the ABC soap opera All My Children. During this time, he also had roles on the UPN sitcoms All of Us and Half & Half.
Working with Tyler Perry
Lamman Rucker is well-known for his roles in Tyler Perry's movies. He co-starred in Why Did I Get Married? (2007) and Why Did I Get Married Too? (2010). He played Will Brown in Perry's 2008 film Meet The Browns.
Later, he became a main actor on the TV show version of the same name. He played Will from 2009 to 2011. In 2012, Rucker was chosen for a main role in the NBC comedy Save Me. He left after the first episode. He later starred with Mena Suvari in the show South of Hell.
Greenleaf and Recent Roles
In 2015, Lamman Rucker was cast in a main role on the Oprah Winfrey Network drama Greenleaf. For five seasons, he played Jacob Greenleaf. Jacob was the only son of Bishop James Greenleaf (Keith David) and First Lady Daisy Mae Greenleaf (Lynn Whitfield).
On August 29, 2019, he shared his life experiences with the Hampton University football team. He talked about how these experiences helped him succeed.
