Keith David (born Keith David Williams on June 4, 1956) is an American actor. He is famous for his deep, powerful voice. He has acted in over 300 movies, TV shows, plays, and video games.

You might know his voice from characters like Dr. Facilier in The Princess and the Frog or the Cat in Coraline. He also voiced Goliath in Gargoyles and King Andrias in Amphibia. In video games, he is the voice of the Arbiter in the Halo series. He has won Emmy Awards for his voice work as a narrator.

Early Life and School

Keith David was born on June 4, 1956. He grew up in Harlem and Corona, Queens, both in New York City. His mom, Dolores, worked at New York Telephone. His dad, Lester Williams, managed payroll.

Keith David first wanted to be an actor after playing the Cowardly Lion in a school play. The play was The Wizard of Oz. He then went to the High School of Performing Arts in Manhattan. Later, he studied at the Juilliard School's Drama Division. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1979.
