Lance Ellington, born on June 22, 1957, is a talented English singer, songwriter, and actor. He is the son of famous band leader Ray Ellington and actress Anita West. Lance is known for his amazing voice, especially when singing swing and big ballads. He has worked with many well-known artists like Sting, George Michael, Michael Jackson, and Robbie Williams. Today, you can often see him performing on the popular BBC show Strictly Come Dancing.

Lance Ellington's Music Journey
Early Career and Big Wins
After finishing school, Lance Ellington started his music career. In 1977, he won the TV talent show New Faces. He was part of a duo called Koffee 'n' Kreme with his singing partner, Beth Hannah. After this big win, he went on tour with singer Johnny Mathis. He also performed in the famous Royal Variety Show.
Singing for Other Artists
Lance became a busy session singer. This means he sang on many songs and albums for other top artists. He even sang the main theme song, "Love You Too," for the movie Thieves of Fortune in 1988.
Solo Music and Collaborations
In 1993, Lance released his single "Lonely (Have We Lost Our Love)." It reached number 57 on the UK Singles Chart. He has released his own studio albums and performed in many shows. Lance has also written songs for popular groups like Steps and Westlife.
In 2004, he played his own father, Ray Ellington, in the film The Life and Death of Peter Sellers. He also sang a duet with Cathy Dennis for the movie Robin Hood: Men in Tights in 1993.
