Lance Timothy Mason (born August 26, 1967) is a former politician, government official, and judge. He held several important roles in and around Cleveland, Ohio.
He served as a judge on the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. From 2007 to 2008, he was a member of the Ohio Senate, representing the 25th District. Before that, from 2002 to 2006, he was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives. In his last year there, he served as Assistant Minority Whip. He also worked as an assistant prosecuting attorney for the county. Later, in 2017, he became an official for the city of Cleveland under Mayor Frank G. Jackson.

Early Life and Education
Lance Mason was born on August 26, 1967. He grew up and graduated from Shaker Heights High School. After high school, he went to the College of Wooster. There, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 1992, he completed his education at the University of Michigan Law School. He earned a Juris Doctor degree, which is a law degree.
Political Career and Public Service
Lance Mason had a career in public service in Ohio. From 2002 to 2008, he was part of the Ohio General Assembly. This is the state's lawmaking body.
Serving in the Ohio House of Representatives
He first served as a state representative. He was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 2002 to 2006. During his time there, he helped make laws for the state. In his final year, he held the position of Assistant Minority Whip.
Moving to the Ohio Senate
After his time in the House, Mason became a state senator. He represented the 25th District in the Ohio Senate. He served in this role from 2007 to 2008.
Becoming a Judge
In August 2008, Ohio Governor Ted Strickland appointed Mason to a new role. He became a Judge on the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. This happened after a judge's position became open.
Working for the City of Cleveland
In 2017, Mason took on another public service role. The City of Cleveland hired him to work in the Frank G. Jackson administration. His title was Minority Business Development Administrator. In this role, he helped support minority-owned businesses in the city.
