Landis is a town located in Rowan County, North Carolina, in the United States. In 2020, about 3,109 people lived there. The town is situated just north of Kannapolis and south of China Grove.

History of Landis
Landis became an official town in 1901. It started out as a place known for making textiles, which are fabrics or cloth. The biggest factory there was called Linn Mill Company.

Schools and Learning
Children living in Landis attend Landis Elementary School. After that, they go to Corriher-Lipe Middle School. For high school, students attend South Rowan High School.
There are also several colleges nearby. Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is only about 3.7 miles south in Kannapolis. Other colleges in the area include Shaw University's CAPE Center, the North Carolina Research Campus, Ambassador Christian College, and Livingstone College.
