Lansingerland is a cool municipality, which is like a town or district, in the western part of the Netherlands. It's located in the province called South Holland. It was created on January 1, 2007. Before that, it was three separate towns: Berkel en Rodenrijs, Bleiswijk, and Bergschenhoek. People used to call these three towns the "B-Triangle" because their names all start with 'B'! An older town called Tempel, which stopped being a separate municipality in 1855, is also now part of Lansingerland.
The name Lansingerland was picked after a competition! It comes from an old name, Lansingh. This was the name of a 'height-of-land,' which is like a natural ridge. This ridge ran between two important water areas called the Delfland and Schieland Water Boards. It also passed right between the three "B-Triangle" villages. The name was chosen to show how a border that once divided the area now brings it all together. The 'h' was dropped from Lansingh to make it easier to spell.
