Larkana Taluka is a special administrative area, like a county or a sub-district, located in the Larkana District of the Sindh province in Pakistan. The main city and capital of this area is Larkana.
History of Larkana Taluka
During the time of British rule in India, Larkana became a very important place. It was made the main office, or headquarters, for both the Larkana District and Larkana Taluka. For a while, it was even part of the Bombay Presidency, which was a large area controlled by the British in India.
In 1901, the population of Larkana Taluka was about 100,827 people. This was a growth from 90,151 people just ten years earlier in 1891. At that time, the taluka included the city of Larkana and 72 smaller villages.
How Larkana Taluka is Governed
Larkana Taluka is divided into smaller sections to help manage it better. These sections are called Union Councils. There are 18 of these Union Councils in Larkana Taluka. They help with local administration and services for the people living there.
