History of Latham

Before Latham, there was a town called Bodock nearby. A post office opened in Bodock in 1883. But then, in 1885, that post office moved to Latham. This helped the new town grow.

Latham got its first newspaper in 1901. This was an important way for people to get news and stay connected.
