Early Life and Music Beginnings
Lauriana Mae grew up in Red Bank, New Jersey. She loved music from a very young age. Her mother noticed her singing talent early on. Lauriana was inspired by great singers like Etta James, Billie Holiday, and Ella Fitzgerald.
She joined a church choir, which helped her gain confidence. Later, she was accepted into a performing arts high school. There, she studied vocal music. Lauriana began performing at local talent shows. She also worked with different music groups.
Her Music Journey
Lauriana moved to New York City to follow her dream. In 2011, she signed with Atlantic Records. Soon after, she released her first EP, called Love Mae. An EP is like a mini-album with a few songs.
In 2015, she released another EP, City of Diamonds. This EP featured hip hop and R&B songs. In 2016, Lauriana worked with singer Dreezy on her R&B song "LOL." Around late 2016 or early 2017, Lauriana Mae released a full album. It was called Can't Go Back. This album featured Dreezy and Wu-Tang Clan rapper Raekwon.
