Layzie Bone's Music Journey
Starting His Music Career
In 1993, Layzie Bone and other members formed a group called B.O.N.E. Enterpri$e. They recorded an album named Faces of Death. This album was made in the studio of their mentor, Kermit Henderson. It was released on his independent music label, Stoney Burke.
After this, Layzie and the group traveled to Los Angeles. They met with the well-known producer and rapper Eazy-E. Diego Blak, who helped promote their first album, introduced them to Eazy-E. This happened at a concert in Cleveland, Ohio. The group performed for Eazy-E in his dressing room. Then, they went back to Los Angeles to sign a deal. Eazy-E wanted to call them Thugs-n-Harmony. But the group wanted to keep "Bone" in their name. So, they became known as Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
Solo Work and Other Groups
Layzie Bone also helped promote Mo Thugs Records. This was an independent music label that he and the other Bone members started. On March 20, 2001, he released his first solo album, Thug by Nature. On the same day, another group member, Bizzy Bone, released his second solo album.
Layzie has also made albums with other artists. These include Young Noble from The Outlawz and A.K. from Do or Die. He has released several solo albums too. Some of these are It's Not A Game, The New Revolution, and Cleveland. He also released Startin' from Scratch: How A Thug Was Born and Thugz Nation. Layzie has also made a series of albums with Bizzy Bone. These include Still Creepin On Ah Come Up and albums released as Bone Brothers. These albums are Bone Brothers, Bone Brothers 2, and Bone Brothers 3.
New Ventures and Success
In 2010, Layzie Bone started his own music label. He named it Harmony Howse Entertainment. In 2011, he planned to release a joint music project with Fredro Starr from the group Onyx. This project was called FireSquad.
Under his new label, Layzie released two albums on February 22, 2011. These albums were The Definition and The Meaning. In 2015, Layzie released a song called Cleveland is The City. It featured Aaron "D-Boyy" Dissell. This song was used by Fox News during the 2015 NBA Finals. It became the theme song for the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team. Layzie was also working on an album called Perfect Timing. It was planned for 2016, but the release date is now to be decided. Layzie is the uncle of the independent rapper, Dizzy Wright.
