History of Le Grand
Le Grand was first planned out in 1852. It officially became a city in 1891. The city got its name from Le Grande Byington. He was the person who originally owned the land where the city was built.

Famous Faces
Jack Coombs, also known as "Colby Jack," was a professional baseball player from Le Grand. He was a very successful pitcher. He led the league in wins in both 1910 and 1911. Jack Coombs won the World Series three times. He is honored in the Philadelphia Baseball Wall of Fame.
