Le Roy is currently the smallest city in Iowa that has its own local government. In 2010, it was tied for the smallest city with Beaconsfield.

History of Le Roy

Le Roy started in 1880. This happened after the Humeston and Shenandoah Railroad built tracks through the area. The city was named after Leroy Buffman, who was one of the first people to settle there.
