Lebeau (sometimes spelled LeBeau and once known as Bayou Petite Prairie) is a small community in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. It's located in the central part of the state. Other nearby towns include Palmetto, Ville Platte, and Washington. Lebeau is part of a larger area that includes the towns of Opelousas and Eunice. You can find Lebeau where U.S. Route 71 and Louisiana Highway 10 meet.

How Lebeau Got Its Name

Lebeau got its name from Father Pierre Oscar Lebeau. He was a Catholic priest who helped start the town. The church he founded, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, is still there today.
