Leesburg is a small town in Indiana, United States. It is located in Kosciusko County, within Plain Township. In 2020, about 555 people lived there. Leesburg was founded in 1833 by Levi Lee. It is known for being the oldest town in Kosciusko County.

How Leesburg Got Its Name
Leesburg was named after its founder, Levi Lee. He established the town in August 1833. The town has had a post office helping people send mail since 1839.
A special area in Leesburg, called the Leesburg Historic District, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. This means it is an important place with a lot of history.
Leesburg's Early Days
Leesburg holds a special place in history as the oldest town in Kosciusko County. It was once the main government center, or county seat, for the county. This lasted until November 1854. At that time, the Pennsylvania Railroad reached Warsaw, and the county seat moved there. Leesburg was also home to the very first courthouse in the county.
