Leimbach is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the Kulm district. It is part of the canton of Aargau in Switzerland.

History of Leimbach
Leimbach was first mentioned in official records way back in the year 1300. During the Middle Ages, different powerful families and a monastery shared the right to collect taxes, called tithes, from the area.
Becoming Part of Bern
In 1415, Leimbach came under the control of Bern, a powerful Swiss city. Bern decided that Leimbach should change its church. So, in 1528, Leimbach left the Catholic parish of Pfeffikon. The next year, in 1529, it joined the Reformed parish of Reinach.
Gaining Independence
It took a long time, until 1751, for Leimbach to get its own local laws and a mayor from Bern. Then, in 1803, after a big change in Swiss government, Leimbach became part of the new Canton of Aargau.
Leimbach's Economy Over Time
In the 1700s and 1800s, people in Leimbach mainly earned money by growing small amounts of cotton and tobacco. Later, in the 1920s, a factory that made sheet metal and wire was built in the town.

Leimbach covers an area of about 1.15 square kilometers (0.44 square miles). A large part of this land, about 50.4%, is used for farming. Forests cover about 31.3% of the area. The rest, about 15.7%, is built up with buildings and roads.
