Lemar Durant (born August 20, 1992) is a Canadian football player who played as a wide receiver. He played for seven seasons in the Canadian Football League (CFL). Durant went to Simon Fraser University for college, where he played college football for the Simon Fraser Clan. The Calgary Stampeders drafted him in the second round of the 2015 CFL Draft. Durant also played for the BC Lions, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and Ottawa Redblacks.

Early Football Days
Lemar Durant played high school football at Centennial Secondary School. In his final year, he was the team's best receiver. But when the team's main quarterback got hurt, Durant stepped in to play quarterback.
He played seven games as quarterback that year. He threw seven touchdown passes and ran for 985 yards, scoring 16 more touchdowns. Because of his amazing performance, he was named the Coquitlam Sports Wall of Fame’s male high school athlete of the year in 2009. He also won the Canadian High School football Provincial MVP award. Durant was also a great basketball player at Centennial, scoring about 32 points per game.
After high school in 2010, Durant went to the University of Nevada, Reno. He played wide receiver for the Wolf Pack. He later moved to Simon Fraser University, playing there from 2012 to 2014. At Simon Fraser, Durant caught 175 passes for 2,392 yards and scored 28 touchdowns. In October 2012, he tied a conference record by catching 12 passes for 228 yards and four touchdowns in one game. He finished his first year at Simon Fraser with 17 touchdowns and 93 catches, which was a conference record. He was named a first-team conference all-star. In his last year, he was again named an all-star after catching 55 passes for 685 yards and four touchdowns.
Professional Career
Before joining the CFL, Lemar Durant took part in the CFL Combine. This is where players show off their skills to professional teams. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.55 seconds and did 26 bench press reps. He was also considered for the 2015 NFL draft in the United States. The Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants gave him tryouts.
Calgary Stampeders
The CFL Scouting Bureau ranked Durant as one of the top players in the 2015 draft class. The Calgary Stampeders picked him in the second round, as the 18th overall choice. He played well in his final pre-season game, catching five passes for 85 yards. This helped him stay on the team for the regular season.
Durant played his first CFL game on July 18, 2015, against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He caught one pass for 19 yards. In 2015, he played in 13 games, catching 12 passes for 170 yards and three touchdowns. In 2016, he played in 15 games, catching 35 passes for 402 yards and one touchdown.
In 2018, the Stampeders won the 106th Grey Cup, which is the CFL championship game. They beat the Ottawa Redblacks 27–16. Durant was named the Grey Cup's Most Valuable Canadian player. In that game, he caught four passes for 30 yards and one touchdown, and also ran for 22 yards. Durant played 51 games for the Stampeders. He caught 102 passes for 1280 yards and scored eight touchdowns.
BC Lions
On February 12, 2019, Durant signed with his hometown team, the BC Lions. His first year with the Lions was a great one. He set new personal bests with 57 catches, 810 yards, and 5 touchdowns in just 15 games. His season ended early because of a foot injury. Even so, he was chosen as the Lions' Most Outstanding Canadian player. He signed a new contract with the Lions that would keep him with the team through the 2022 season. In 2021, he played in only eight games due to injuries and a shorter season. He had 24 catches for 243 yards. The Lions released him on January 21, 2022.
Hamilton Tiger-Cats
On January 31, 2022, it was announced that Durant had signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Durant was placed on the injured reserve list at the start of the 2022 season. He missed seven games that year, playing in 11 matches. He caught 12 passes for 112 yards and scored one touchdown. After the season, he became a free agent on February 14, 2023.
Ottawa Redblacks
On February 17, 2023, Durant signed a one-year contract with the Ottawa Redblacks. However, on May 11, 2023, the Redblacks announced that Durant had decided to retire from professional football.
Lemar Durant played seven seasons in the CFL for three different teams. He played in 85 regular season games. He caught 195 passes for a total of 2,465 yards and scored 14 touchdowns.

Lemar Durant was born to Frank and Rebecca Durant. He grew up in Coquitlam, British Columbia.
