Lemmon Valley is a community in Washoe County, Nevada, United States. It's known as a census-designated place (CDP). A CDP is like a town or village, but it's not officially an independent city.

In 2020, about 4,987 people lived in Lemmon Valley. It is located just north of Reno. It is also part of the larger Reno–Sparks metropolitan area. Before 2010, Lemmon Valley was part of a bigger CDP called Lemmon Valley–Golden Valley.

Where is Lemmon Valley?

Lemmon Valley is located at 39°39′50″N 119°49′37″W / 39.66389°N 119.82694°W / 39.66389; -119.82694. This is about 10 miles (16 km) north of downtown Reno. Another community called Golden Valley is right next to it, to the south.

Land and Water Features

The community covers a total area of about 18.4 square miles (47.6 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 17.2 square miles (44.5 square kilometers), is land. The rest, about 1.2 square miles (3.1 square kilometers), is water.

The water areas mainly include the Swan Lake Nature Study Area. This is a small wetland conservation area. It is a special place that protects many different kinds of birds and other wildlife.
