Early Music Career
Leo Iorga started his music journey when he was just 14 years old. He began as a drummer in his high school band. Before 1985, he played with a group called "Pacific".
In 1988, Leo Iorga joined the band Cargo as their lead singer. With Cargo, he sang on popular songs like "Brigadierii" and "Povestiri din gară".
Compact Years
From late 1988 until 1996, Leo Iorga was the main vocalist for the band Compact. Many people, including famous radio host Florian Pittiș, called this group the "golden formula" of Compact. The band included Leo Iorga, Adrian Ordean, Vlady Cnejevici, Teo Peter, Emil Laghia, and Leluț Vasilescu.
In 1989, Compact, with Leo Iorga singing, performed at the "Mitt Ein Ander" festival in Berlin. They also toured the Republic of Moldova three times in 1988, 1990, and 1992.
International Performances
Leo Iorga and Compact had many exciting opportunities to play with international bands. In 1990, they joined the "British Rock for Romania" tour. They played alongside bands like Crazy Head and Jesus Jones.
In 1992, they were part of the "Rock '92" festival. Here, they shared the stage with famous rock bands Uriah Heep and Ian Gillan Band. The next year, in 1993, they performed two concerts with the legendary band Nazareth. These shows took place in Brașov, Romania, and Sofia, Bulgaria. In 1994, Leo Iorga sang at the Skip Rock Festival with the well-known group Jethro Tull.
Compact also took part in the Marlboro Music tour for three years: 1993, 1994, and 1995. On this tour, they played with other popular Romanian bands like Holograf, Iris, and Direction 5.
Later Bands
After leaving Compact, Leo Iorga continued to make music. From 1997 to 2001, he sang with a band called Schimbul 3. This group included musicians like Adrian Ordean and George Patranoiu.
From 2003 until his passing in 2019, Leo Iorga worked with the band Pacifica. He continued to perform and share his music with fans.
Facing Challenges
In early 2011, Leo Iorga faced a serious health challenge. He bravely fought this illness for many years. Despite his health issues, he continued to perform and inspire many people with his music.
