Leonardo Campana Romero (born on July 24, 2000) is a professional football player from Ecuador. He plays as a forward for the Major League Soccer team New England Revolution. Leonardo also plays for the Ecuador national team.

Club Football Journey
Starting at Barcelona SC
Leonardo Campana began his football career in 2016 with Barcelona SC. This team is based in his home country, Ecuador. He scored his very first professional goal on April 21, 2019.
Moving to Wolverhampton
In January 2020, Campana moved to England. He joined Wolverhampton Wanderers, a club in the top English league.
Loan to Famalicão
Later in 2020, Campana went on loan to Famalicão in Portugal. He played his first game for them in September 2020. He scored his first goal for Famalicão in April 2021.
Playing for Grasshoppers
In July 2021, Campana joined Grasshoppers on loan. This team plays in the Swiss Super League.
Time with Inter Miami
In January 2022, Campana moved to the United States. He joined Major League Soccer club Inter Miami on a loan deal. He made his debut for Inter Miami in February 2022. Campana scored his first goal for the team in March 2022.
He had a great game in April 2022, scoring three goals in one match. This performance earned him the MLS Player of the Week award. Campana officially signed with Inter Miami in January 2023. He stayed with the team until the end of 2024.
In August 2023, Inter Miami won the 2023 Leagues Cup. Campana helped his team by scoring a penalty kick in the final.
He also scored two goals in the 2023 U.S. Open Cup semifinal in August 2023. These goals were assisted by famous player Lionel Messi. Inter Miami reached the final but lost that game.
Joining New England Revolution
In December 2024, Campana was traded to another MLS club. He joined the New England Revolution. This was a big transfer deal within the MLS. He played his first game for the Revolution in February 2025. Campana scored his first goal for his new team in April 2025.
International Football
Campana became well-known during the 2019 South American U-20 Championship. He scored six goals in nine games. His team, Ecuador, won the championship that year.
