Leslie Ann Shaw Thays (born on February 27, 1989) is a talented Peruvian artist. She is a singer, songwriter, actress, model, and dancer. Leslie is famous for representing Peru at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival. She also placed second in the first season of El Gran Show in 2011.

Leslie Shaw's Music Journey

Starting with a Group

Leslie Shaw began her music career in a Peruvian pop group called Glow. In 2008, they released their first song, Signos. They recorded several songs for an album. However, Leslie wanted to make rock music. The other members preferred pop music. Because of these differences, Leslie decided to leave the group.

Becoming a Solo Artist

In 2010, Leslie started her solo music career. She released her first album, Destrozado y sin control. Two music videos from this album, "Destrozado y sin control" and "Una vez más", were shown on MTV (Latin America).

Representing Peru

In 2011, Leslie had the honor of representing Peru at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival. This is a very important music festival. She reached the finals and earned second place with her song "Destrozado y sin control".

Achievements in Music

Leslie has released one full album and two EPs (Extended Plays). She has also worked with famous international artists. Some of her songs have been very successful in Peru. Her song Loco was certified gold. Her songs Volverte A Ver and Decide went platinum. Si Me Ves Con Alguien achieved double platinum status. Her song Faldita even went quadruple platinum!

Her EP, Yo Soy Leslie Shaw, features collaborations with major artists. These include Thalía, Mau y Ricky, and Farina. In July 2020, Billboard Magazine recognized her. They named her one of the top 15 new Peruvian artists to listen to. In December 2020, she won the Best South Artist award at the Premios Heat.

TV Shows and Competitions

Leslie Shaw has appeared on several television shows. In 2011, she was a contestant on El Gran Show 2011 (season 1). She was the runner-up in that season. She also participated in Tu cara me suena (Perú) during the 2013–2014 season. She finished in third place in that competition.

In 2019, Leslie performed at the 2019 Pan American Games opening ceremony. She sang alongside Luis Fonsi, performing his hit song Échame la Culpa.

Movies and Acting Roles

Leslie has also acted in several movies. She played Victoria "Vicky" in Cementerio General (2013) and Cementerio General 2 (2015). She also appeared in Death Race 2050 (2017) as Eve Rocket.

In 2011, while she was on "El Gran Show," Leslie took on a main role in a theater play. This play was an adaptation of the popular Peruvian TV show, "Carmin." She played the character Fiorella Menchelli.
