Less Browne (born December 7, 1959) is a former American football player. He was a talented defensive back who played in two major leagues. These were the United States Football League (USFL) and the Canadian Football League (CFL).
Browne played for the Pittsburgh Maulers in the USFL. In the CFL, he played for several teams. These included the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Ottawa Rough Riders, and BC Lions. He is known for his amazing career records and championships.

Playing Professional Football
Less Browne started his professional football journey in 1984. He first signed with the Pittsburgh Maulers in the USFL. After a short time there, he joined the Canadian Football League (CFL). He signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the spring of 1984.
Amazing Records and Achievements
Less Browne holds some impressive records in the CFL. He has the most interceptions in a career, with 87. An interception is when a defensive player catches a pass meant for an offensive player. He also holds the record for most interception return yards, with 1,508. This means he ran the ball a long way after catching those passes!
Browne is also third in the CFL for career blocked kicks, with eight. He played in four Grey Cup games, which are like the championship games of the CFL. He won three of these championships: in 1986, 1990, and 1994.
He was chosen as a CFL All-Star six times during his career. This means he was recognized as one of the best players in the league. He was also a runner-up twice for the CFL's Most Outstanding Defensive Player Award. This shows how important he was to his teams' defenses.
After His Playing Career
Less Browne's incredible career was recognized in 2002. He was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. This is a special honor for players who have made a big impact on Canadian football.
