Liberty Hill is a city located in Williamson County, Texas, in the United States. In 2020, about 3,646 people lived there. By 2023, the population was estimated to be around 10,428 people. Liberty Hill is part of the larger Greater Austin area.

History of Liberty Hill
The first people to settle in the Liberty Hill area arrived in the 1840s. A post office opened nearby in 1853. Its first postmaster, W.O. Spencer, suggested the name Liberty Hill. Over time, the town moved eastward twice.
In 1871, a building made of hand-cut limestone was built by S.P. Stubblefield. He ran a general store there until 1881. This building is now known as the Stubblefield Visitors Center. It is the oldest building in Liberty Hill that is still in use today.
Geography and Climate
Liberty Hill is located about 29 miles (47 km) northwest of Austin. The city covers an area of about 4.6 square miles (12 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a very small amount of water.

In 1976, Liberty Hill hosted an event called the International Sculpture Symposium. During this event, artists created 27 large sculptures. The Liberty Hill Independent School District serves the city of Liberty Hill.
The Liberty Hill High School football team has won state championships in Texas. They won in 2006 against Celina High School and again in 2007 against Gilmer High School.
