Lifted Research Group, often called LRG, is an American clothing brand. It was started by Jonas Bevacqua and Robert Wright in Orange County, California. LRG makes clothes and accessories for people all over the world.

Besides clothing, LRG has also created other cool products. These include electronic gadgets, special vehicles, and outdoor gear. The company also helps new music artists get noticed. Plus, LRG sponsors its own professional skateboarding team.

How LRG Started

Lifted Research Group was founded in 1999. It was created by Jonas Bevacqua and Robert Wright. Robert Wright had a lot of experience in the fashion industry. He had worked with popular brands like Quiksilver and O'Neill for eight years.

Wright also helped create the first samples and designs for LRG. Jonas Bevacqua got the money to start the company from friends of his adopted father. His father's friends worked in the fashion business.

First Big Success

This money helped pay for the first batch of products. These products sold out completely on their very first day! This happened at a big event called the Action Sports Retailer Expo in San Diego, California.

LRG quickly became successful. The company made its first million dollars in the year 2000. By 2002, LRG was making a profit. This means they were earning more money than they were spending.

New Products and Collaborations

In 2005, LRG announced a new clothing line just for women. It was called Luxirie. This line was designed for women aged 18 to 30. Luxirie designs had six different themes, from Western styles to military looks. Some special items even had crystals on them.

Luxirie launched in the United States and Canada in the fall of 2006. LRG has since launched its products in many other countries. They also have an international skate team. A famous rider named Marek Zaprazny has been a star on their international team.

Cool Tech Partnerships

In the fall of 2006, a phone company called T-Mobile worked with LRG. They released a special edition of the Sidekick III phone. LRG designed this phone. It had a green-on-green look and featured LRG's logo. T-Mobile made 10,000 of these phones, and they all sold out quickly.

LRG Today

Sadly, Jonas Bevacqua passed away in 2011 at the age of 33. He died of natural causes.

LRG continued to grow and change. In 2017, they hired Nick Bower to help create new designs. In 2018, LRG worked with several artists. These included Jon Z, Chip The Ripper, Rvssian, and Jhay Cortez. In 2019, LRG teamed up with Apple Music. They became an official curator for playlists on the music platform.
