Lighthouse Point Park is a cool park in New Haven, Connecticut. The city of New Haven runs it. It's a big park, about 82 acres, located right on the eastern side of New Haven Harbor. From here, you can see Downtown New Haven!

Fun Things to Do at the Park

This park has lots of fun things to see and do. It features an old lighthouse and a classic carousel. You can also enjoy the beach and nature trails.

The Historic Lighthouse

The park is named after the Five Mile Point Light. This lighthouse is not used anymore. But sometimes, you can take special tours inside it. It's a great chance to learn about its history.

Ride the Carousel

Another exciting feature is the Lighthouse Point Carousel. This carousel was built in 1911. It has 69 horses, a camel, and two chariots. The camel is very rare, as there are only three like it in the world! The carousel is open during certain times of the year.

Beach and Play Areas

Lighthouse Point Park has a nice sand beach. There's a bath house and restrooms nearby. Lifeguards are on duty during the swimming season. Kids can also enjoy a splash play area and a playground.
