Ligonier is a city in Noble County, Indiana, in the United States. It is located within Perry Township. The city is known as the "City of Murals." In 2020, about 4,568 people lived there.

History of Ligonier
Ligonier was officially planned and laid out in 1835. The city got its name from a town in Pennsylvania called Ligonier. A post office has been open in Ligonier since 1848.
From 1906 to 1970, Ligonier had a movie theater called A. J. Inks' Crystal Theatre.
Art and Historic Places
In 1940, a special painting called a post office mural was finished by Fay E. Davis. This artwork was asked for by a government group called the Section of Painting and Sculpture. The mural is named Cutting Timber. It shows lumberjacks cutting down trees and moving them with oxcarts.
Several important places in Ligonier are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. These include the Ahavas Shalom Reform Temple, the Ligonier Historic District, and the Jacob Straus House.

According to the 2020 census, there were 4,568 people living in Ligonier. This included 2,690 people who identified as Hispanic.
2010 Census Details
The 2010 census counted 4,405 people in Ligonier. There were 1,333 households and 978 families. The city had about 1,907 people per square mile (736 per square kilometer).
Most residents (69.6%) were White. About 51.5% of the population identified as Hispanic or Latino.
Many households (49.3%) had children under 18 living with them. The average household had 3.26 people. The average family had 3.83 people.
The median age in the city was 28.5 years. About 34.7% of residents were under 18. Only 8% were 65 years old or older. The population was almost evenly split between males (49.8%) and females (50.2%).
Education in Ligonier
Ligonier is served by the West Noble School Corporation. This school system has four schools at two locations.
- The West Noble Primary School teaches students in kindergarten and first grade. It is located at 500 West Union Street.
- The West Noble Elementary School (WNES) is for grades 2-4. It is located south of Ligonier on US-33.
- The West Noble Middle School teaches grades 5–8. It is also on the WNSC campus south of Ligonier.
- The West Noble High School is for students in grades 9-12. All high school students from Ligonier attend this school.
The town also has a public library where people can borrow books. It is called the Ligonier Public Library.
Local Newspapers
For many years, Ligonier had its own weekly newspaper. The Advance Leader newspaper served the western part of Noble County. It became part of KPC Media Group Inc. in May 1975.
This newspaper was formed by combining two older weekly papers:
- The Cromwell Advance, which started in 1912.
- The Ligonier Leader, which started in 1880.
The first issue of The Advance Leader was published on May 14, 1975. It was published every week until 2020. The newspaper closed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, Ligonier news is covered by the county's daily newspaper, the News Sun. This paper is also published by KPC Media.

- Bert Inks (also known as A. J. Inks) was a baseball pitcher. He also owned the Crystal Theatre.

- Douglas Rex was a past president of the American College of Gastroenterology.
- Glen Steele was a professional football player who is now retired. He went to West Noble High School.
