Liladhar Vaghela (born February 17, 1935 – died September 17, 2020) was an important political leader from Gujarat, India. He served as a Member of Parliament (MP) in the Lok Sabha, which is like the main law-making body of India. He represented the Patan area.

About Liladhar Vaghela
Liladhar Vaghela was born in a place called Pimpal, in the Chanasma area of Mahesana district. He studied hard and earned degrees like B.A. and B.ed. Before becoming a politician, he worked in farming, helped his community, and was even a journalist.
He was the person who started a weekly newspaper called "Banas Sandesh" and worked as its editor for 25 years. This shows he was dedicated to sharing information.
In 2018, he had an accident outside his home in Gandhinagar. A stray cow attacked him, and he broke two ribs.
Political Journey
Liladhar Vaghela had a long and active career in politics. He was part of the Indian National Congress party in the past. He even served as a minister in the government led by Chimanbhai Patel.
He became very well-known when he ran for the Lok Sabha election in 2004. He ran against a very powerful leader, Shankersinh Vaghela. Even though Liladhar Vaghela was from North Gujarat, he was chosen by Narendra Modi to run in a different area called Kapadvanj. He was chosen because he belonged to the Thakor community. However, he did not win that election.
Later, Liladhar Vaghela won the election from the Patan area. After winning, he became a minister in Narendra Modi's government. This showed that Narendra Modi supported leaders from the Kshatriya community.
Serving in the Assembly
Liladhar Vaghela was elected many times to the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. This is the state-level law-making body in Gujarat. He served as a member for several terms:

He also held an important role as a "Whip" for the Gujarat Legislature Janata Dal from 1985 to 1990. A whip makes sure that party members vote in a certain way.

Throughout his career, Liladhar Vaghela held many important positions as a minister in the Gujarat government. This means he was in charge of different departments:
- Minister for Panchayats and Rural Housing (1990-1995) – This role involved managing local village councils and housing in rural areas.
- Minister of State for Consumer Affairs (including Weight and Measurement) – He looked after protecting consumer rights and ensuring fair measurements.

- President of the Banaskantha District Jan Morcho.
- President of the Mid-Day Meal Evaluation Committee for the Gujarat government.

- President of the Banaskantha District Thakor Samaj from 1972-1991.
- President of the Banaskantha Youth Congress from 1972-1975.
- President of the Banaskantha District Janata Dal from 1989-1990.
He was also a Vice President for the Gujarat Pradesh Jan Morcho and the Banaskantha District Congress Committee. He helped organize and lead various groups working for development and welfare.
Other Contributions
Beyond his political and community leadership, Liladhar Vaghela also worked as a teacher.
- He was a teacher and a leader (Rector) at the Lokniketan Organisation for five years.
- He also taught at a Secondary High School run by Vividhlakshi Vidyamandir.
