Limón is a small community, also called a barrio, located in the municipality of Utuado, Puerto Rico. In 2010, about 227 people lived there. It's a part of the beautiful island of Puerto Rico.

A Look Back at Limón's History

Puerto Rico has a long and interesting history. After the Spanish–American War, Spain gave Puerto Rico to the United States. This happened under the rules of the Treaty of Paris of 1898. Because of this, Puerto Rico became an unincorporated territory of the United States. This means it is a part of the U.S. but doesn't have all the same rights as a state.

In 1899, the United States government did a count of all the people in Puerto Rico. This count is called a census. The census found that 857 people lived in Limón barrio at that time.
