Limbo Parks (born March 21, 1965) is a former American football player. He was an offensive guard, a key position on the football field. Limbo played college football for two schools: Coffeyville Community College and the University of Arkansas. He also played a few games for the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League (NFL).
Early Life in Missouri
Limbo Parks was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He grew up and went to Raytown South High School in Raytown, Missouri.
College Football Career
Limbo Parks started his college football journey at Coffeyville Community College. In 1983, his team, the Red Ravens, won the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Championship. This was a huge achievement for the team. In 1984, Limbo was recognized as an NJCAA Football All-American. This means he was one of the best players in junior college football.
In 1985, Limbo moved to the University of Arkansas. He continued to play football for the Arkansas Razorbacks. In 1986, he earned All-SWC honors. This award meant he was one of the top players in the Southwest Conference, a major college sports league at the time.
Playing in the NFL
By the time the 1987 NFL season began, Limbo Parks was working as a delivery driver for Pizza Hut. During that season, many NFL players decided to go on strike. This meant they stopped playing to ask for better contracts.
Because of the strike, NFL teams needed new players. Limbo became one of these "replacement players." He joined the San Francisco 49ers. He played in three games for the team. These games were against the New York Giants, the Atlanta Falcons, and the St. Louis Cardinals. The 49ers won all three games Limbo played in. After these three games, the regular players returned to the field.
