Linden is a small village in central Alberta, Canada. It is surrounded by Kneehill County. You can find it about 28 kilometers (17 miles) southwest of Three Hills. It is also 26 kilometers (16 miles) north of Beiseker.
The first people to settle in this area were from the Mennonite church. Many people living in Linden today are descendants of these original settlers. The village opened its first post office in 1949. Linden officially became a village in 1964.
People and Population
In 2021, the Village of Linden had a population of 747 people. These residents lived in 297 homes. This number was a bit lower than its population in 2016, which was 828 people.
The village covers a land area of about 2.55 square kilometers (1 square mile). This means there are about 293 people living in each square kilometer.
Schools in Linden
Linden has one school called Dr. Elliott School. It teaches students from kindergarten all the way to grade 9. The school offers fun sports teams like badminton and track & field.
If students want to go to high school, they usually travel to Acme. Acme is a town about 10 kilometers (6 miles) south of Linden. Dr. Elliott School was first started in 1958 by Dr. Elliott Harvard.
