Linn is a city in Osage County, Missouri, United States. It is the main town, also known as the county seat, of Osage County. In 2020, about 1,350 people lived there. Linn is part of the larger Jefferson City area.

Discovering Linn's Past: A Brief History
Linn was first planned out in 1843. It was named after Senator Lewis F. Linn, an important person in Missouri's history. A post office opened in Linn in 1844, helping the community grow.
Some historic buildings in Linn are very special. The Osage County Poorhouse and the Dr. Enoch T. and Amy Zewicki House are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means they are important historical sites. Before 1841, Linn was actually part of a different county called Gasconade County.

Learning in Linn: Education Opportunities
Linn is a great place for learning! It is home to the State Technical College of Missouri. This college was started in 1961 and became a state college in 1996. It helps students learn important job skills. In 2014, its name changed to State Technical College of Missouri.
The Osage County R-II School District also serves Linn. This district includes the Osage County R-II Elementary School for younger students (Pre-Kindergarten to 6th grade). Older students (7th to 12th grade) attend Linn High School. This high school is located in an area called East Linn. There is also a private school, St. George Catholic School, located in downtown Linn.
Linn also has a public library. It is a part of the Osage County Branch Library system.
