The Loud House is a fun cartoon show about a big family! It was created by Chris Savino and is based on his own experiences growing up in a large family. The show takes place in a made-up town called Royal Woods, which is in Michigan.
The story mostly follows Lincoln Loud, an 11-year-old boy who is the only son in a family with ten sisters! Imagine living in a house with so many siblings! The show also introduces many other characters like Lincoln's best friend Clyde, his classmates, teachers, and other family members and neighbors.

The Loud Family: Meet the Siblings!
Lincoln Loud
Lincoln Loud is an 11-year-old boy, who turns 12 in season 5. He is the middle child and the only son in the Loud family. Lincoln has white hair, just like the show's creator, Chris Savino, who grew up on E Lincoln Avenue in Royal Oak.
Lincoln loves comic books, especially his favorite superhero, Ace Savvy. He's also the family's smart kid, like his younger sister Lisa. Lincoln is good at cooking, playing video games, and even magic tricks! He helps his younger sister Lola get ready for her pageants as her coach. Lincoln often tries to give good advice to his sisters about getting along. In "Schooled!", Lincoln starts middle school and learns to handle new challenges.
Lori Loud
Lori Loud is the 17-year-old oldest child of the Loud family, turning 18 in season 5. She used to share a room with her sister Leni. Now, Lori goes to Fairway University, as seen in "Schooled!".
Lori is often shown as a teenager who takes charge and can be a bit strict with her younger siblings. But deep down, she cares a lot about her family. She wears a light blue tank top, brown shorts, and blue shoes. Since she's the only Loud child with a driver's license, she often drives her siblings around. Lori is also a great golf player. She has a long-distance boyfriend named Bobby Santiago.
Leni Loud
Leni Loud is the 16-year-old second child of the Loud family, turning 17 in season 5. She used to be roommates with Lori. Leni wears a seafoam green dress, red hoop earrings, and white sandals. She loves to go shopping at the Royal Woods Mall.
Leni is very kind and sometimes a bit clumsy. She has a fear of spiders, which is shown in many episodes. Leni gets along very well with Lincoln. She works at Reininger's Department Store, folding clothes. Even though she didn't know how to drive at first, she learned later on. When Lori went to college, Leni became the oldest sibling living at home.
Luna Loud
Luna Loud is the 15-year-old third child of the Loud family, turning 16 in season 5. She is a wild and energetic musician who plays many instruments, especially her purple electric guitar. Her love for music is huge!
Luna wears a purple shirt, a lavender skirt, and purple boots. She has a girlfriend named Sam Sharp, who is also a musician. Luna and Sam are officially dating, and Luna's family is very supportive of their relationship.
Luan Loud
Luan Loud is the 14-year-old fourth child of the Loud family, turning 15 in season 5. She shares a room with Luna. Luan is the comedian of the house, and she loves to tell jokes and make puns.
Luan wears a white sleeveless shirt, a yellow skirt, and pink flowers. Every April Fools' Day, she loves to play pranks on her family and Clyde. She's also a talented birthday clown, juggler, magician, and ventriloquist with her dummy, Mr. Coconuts. Luan started high school as a freshman in "Rita Her Rights" and is now a sophomore in "Schooled!".
Lynn Loud Jr.
Lynn Loud Jr. is the 13-year-old fifth child of the Loud family, turning 14 in season 5. She is very athletic and plays many different sports. Lynn loves to start competitions among her siblings.
Lynn Jr. wears a red and white jersey, track shorts, and cleats. She is very superstitious and believes certain things bring her good or bad luck in sports. In "Middle Men," it's shown that Lynn became tougher when she started middle school.
Lucy Loud
Lucy Loud is the 8-year-old seventh child of the Loud family, turning 9 in season 5. She is Lynn Jr.'s roommate. Lucy has pale skin and long black hair that covers her eyes. She often appears out of nowhere, which can surprise her siblings!
Lucy is interested in spooky things and is part of the Morticians' Club at school. She has a bust of a vampire named Edwin from her favorite book series. Lucy also has a crush on Rocky Spokes, Rusty Spokes' brother.
Lana Loud
Lana Loud is the 6-year-old eighth child of the Loud family, turning 7 in season 5. She is the identical twin sister of Lola and was born two minutes before her, making her the older twin.
Lana is a tomboy who loves to play in the mud and get dirty. She wears a red baseball cap, a green t-shirt, and blue overalls. Lana is a skilled handy worker, plumber, and mechanic. She loves animals, especially frogs and reptiles, and will always protect them. She is very close to her twin sister, Lola.
Lola Loud
Lola Loud is the 6-year-old ninth child of the Loud family, turning 7 in season 5. She is the identical twin sister of Lana and was born two minutes after her, making her the younger twin.
Lola is like a "Princess" who loves to get her way. She often wears a long pink gown, a sash, and a tiara. Lola is always in child beauty pageants. She can get very upset if her siblings annoy her. Even though she can be a bit bossy, she is also kind and loving to her family. Lola and Lana often use a pink jeep to get around Royal Woods.
Lisa Loud
Lisa Loud is the 4-year-old tenth child of the Loud family, turning 5 in season 5. She is a child prodigy and very smart, even having a Ph.D. She chose to be in kindergarten but is now in 1st grade as of "Schooled!".
Lisa loves solving difficult math problems and doing experiments. She often uses her siblings as test subjects! She wears glasses, an olive green turtleneck, and dark pink pants. Lisa sometimes uses big, scientific words before explaining things simply. She is very smart but sometimes struggles with simple things like arts and crafts. Lisa has invented many things, like robots and special cookies that make you glow!
Lily Loud
Lily Loud is the 1-year-old baby of the Loud family, turning 2 in season 5. She is the eleventh child and Lisa's roommate. Lily is often seen wearing only a diaper, but in season 5, she starts wearing a white shirt, purple pants, and white shoes.
Lincoln often babysits Lily. She used to say "poo-poo" a lot, usually when she needed a diaper change. However, in "Schooled!", Lily becomes potty trained and starts saying more words. She shares a room with Lisa, and sometimes her siblings can understand what she's trying to say.
Lynn Loud Sr.
Lynn Loud Sr. is the father of the Loud children. He often helps break up fights between his kids. Lynn Sr. used to work in IT but decided to follow his dream of becoming a chef. He does all the cooking for his family.
Lynn Sr. wears a sea green sweater, brown pants, and brown shoes. His dream came true in the episode "Cooked!" when he opened his own restaurant called Lynn's Table.
Rita Loud
Rita Loud is the mother of the Loud children. She is caring but also firm when her children fight too much. Rita wears a pink shirt, purple pants, and black shoes.
Rita met Lynn Sr. when she was working as a crossing guard. Her family includes her father, Albert, and her aunt, Ruth. Rita works as a dental assistant but is also working to become an author. In "Write and Wrong," Rita gets a job at the Royal Woods Gazette newspaper.
Other Loud Family Members
Albert "Pop Pop"
Albert is the kids' grandfather and Rita's father. His grandchildren often call him "Pop Pop." He used to be in the United States military. Albert wears a white shirt, blue jeans, and orange suspenders. He is very close to Lincoln and has the same white hair. Albert moved into the Sunset Canyon Retirement Home in "The Old and the Restless."
Myrtle
Myrtle is Albert's girlfriend and becomes an honorary grandmother to the Loud children. She traveled a lot when she was younger and didn't have her own children. When she started dating Albert, she treated the Loud kids like her own grandkids. The children started calling her "Gran-Gran." Myrtle later moves into Sunset Canyon Retirement Home with Gayle as her roommate.
Ruth
Ruth is Albert's sister and the Loud children's great-aunt. She is known for being a cat lady and has a bit of a grumpy attitude. She wears an olive green dress with flowers. Only Rita, Lana, and Lily seem to enjoy visiting her.
Loud Family Pets
The Loud family has several pets that often show emotions similar to the children.
- Charles is a black and white Miniature Bull Terrier dog. He often sleeps in Lincoln's room.
- Cliff is a black cat with a large nose.
- Geo is a pet hamster who travels in a hamster ball.
- Walt is a yellow canary bird who often looks angry.

- Hops is Lana's pet frog and her best friend.
- Lana also has a pet rat named Bitey, a lizard named Izzy, and a snake named El Diablo.

The McBride Family
Clyde McBride
Clyde McBride is an 11-year-old boy and Lincoln's best friend. He has a walkie-talkie that he uses for adventures with Lincoln. Clyde shares many interests with Lincoln, like video games and science fiction movies.
He wears circular glasses, black pants, and a yellow-and-blue striped shirt. When Lincoln pretends to be Ace Savvy, Clyde dresses up as Ace's sidekick, One-Eyed Jack. Clyde used to have a big crush on Lori.
Howard and Harold McBride
Howard and Harold McBride are Clyde's fathers. They are very protective and caring about their son. Howard has red hair, and Harold is African-American.
They give Clyde a lot of attention but sometimes don't let him do things alone. Howard can get very emotional watching Clyde grow up. The McBrides are the first married gay couple to be shown in a Nickelodeon cartoon series.
Gayle McBride
Gayle McBride is Harold's mother and Clyde's grandmother. She appeared in the episode "Resident Upheaval," where she competed with Myrtle for a room at Sunset Canyon Retirement Home. Gayle ended up getting a double room and Myrtle became her roommate.
McBride Family Pets
- Cleopawtra is the McBride family's orange cat. Her name is a fun play on "Cleopatra."
- Nepurrtiti is a lavender kitten that the McBrides got in "Baby Steps." Her name is a fun play on "Nefertiti."
The Casagrandes: Friends from Great Lakes City
These two characters are from The Casagrandes spin-off show, but they first appeared in The Loud House.
Ronnie Anne Santiago
Ronalda "Ronnie" Anne Santiago is an 11-year-old girl, turning 12 in season 5. She is Bobby's sister and Lincoln's friend. Ronnie Anne is a tomboy who loves skateboarding, playing video games, and pranks.
She wears a purple sweatshirt, jean shorts, and purple shoes. People in her family or Lincoln's family sometimes joke that they are boyfriend and girlfriend, which they both deny. But it's often hinted that they might like each other!
Bobby Santiago
Roberto Alejandro Martinez-Millan Luis "Bobby" Santiago Jr. is a 17-year-old boy, turning 18 in season 5. He is Lori's boyfriend and Ronnie Anne's older brother. Lori often calls him "Boo Boo Bear."
Bobby wears blue jeans, brown shoes, and a green shirt over a cream T-shirt. He is very protective of his sister. Even though he and his family moved to Great Lakes City in "The Loudest Mission: Relative Chaos," Bobby and Lori found a way to keep their relationship going. In "Schooled!", Bobby also starts attending Fairway University with Lori.

- Wilbur T. Huggins is the strict principal of Royal Woods Elementary School. He is a big fan of Ace Savvy, just like Lincoln and Clyde.
- Agnes Johnson is a fifth-grade teacher who taught Lincoln and Clyde.
- Cheryl is the school secretary who speaks with a Southern accent.
- Coach Pacowski is a gym teacher with a serious personality. He likes mini-golf and is Nurse Patti's boyfriend.
- Haiku is an 11-year-old goth girl and one of Lucy's friends. She is part of the Morticians' Club.
- Norm is the janitor at the school. He secretly keeps a friendly pet rat named Cinnamon in the basement.
- Nurse Patti is the friendly school nurse at Royal Woods Elementary. She is Coach Pacowski's girlfriend.
Royal Woods Middle School
- Chandler McCann is one of the most popular kids. He started middle school in "Schooled!" and often causes trouble for Lincoln.
- Girl Jordan is one of Lincoln's 11-year-old classmates. She and Lincoln have a fun rivalry in dodgeball.
- Liam Hunnicutt is Lincoln's 11-year-old friend who speaks with a Southern accent and lives on a farm.
- Margo Roberts is Lynn Jr.'s best friend and plays on all her sports teams.
- Meryl is the school secretary at Royal Woods Middle School and Cheryl's younger sister.
- Mr. Bolfhofner is a very strict math teacher and a former soldier. He teaches in a wooden trailer outside the school building.
- Paula Price is a girl who is part of Lynn's sports teams, even though she uses crutches.
- Rusty Spokes is an 11-year-old talkative friend of Lincoln. He has a brother named Rocky who likes Lucy.
- Stella Zhau is an 11-year-old Filipino American girl who moved to Royal Woods. Lincoln and his friends thought she liked them, but she just wanted to be friends, which they were happy about!
- Zachary "Zach" Gurdle is an 11-year-old friend of Lincoln. He and his parents are very interested in conspiracy theories and aliens.

- Becky is one of Lori and Leni's friends and classmates.
- Benjamin "Benny" Stein is Luan's love interest. They started a relationship and even shared a kiss in a school play. Benny has a puppet named Mrs. Appleblossom.
- Samantha "Sam" Sharp is a 15-year-old girl and Luna's girlfriend. She is also a musician and one of Luna's classmates.
