Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Since the popular cartoon show Tiny Toon Adventures first came out, many video games have been made based on the series. For a long time in the 1990s, a company called Konami was in charge of making and selling most of these games. Other companies like Atari, Terraglyph, Warthog, Lost Boy Games, and Treasure also created Tiny Toon Adventures games.

Early Adventures: NES and Handhelds

The very first Tiny Toon Adventures game was a simple LCD handheld released in 1991 by Tiger Electronics. It was a small, portable game you could play anywhere.

Soon after, the first big console game, also called Tiny Toon Adventures, came out for the NES in 1991. This game was made by Konami, who would become a key developer for the series. It was a platformer where players controlled Buster Bunny.

In 1992, the Game Boy got its own Tiny Toon game called Tiny Toon Adventures: Babs' Big Break. This game focused on Babs Bunny. That same year, the NES also received Tiny Toon Adventures Cartoon Workshop, which was a unique game allowing players to create their own cartoon scenes.

More NES Fun and Sequels

The NES continued to get new Tiny Toon games. Tiny Toon Adventures 2: Trouble in Wackyland was released in 1992, offering more adventures for fans. These games often featured different characters from the show, each with their own special abilities.

Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis Era

As new game consoles became popular, Tiny Toon Adventures games also moved to these systems. The SNES saw the release of Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Busts Loose! in 1992. This game was known for its colorful graphics and fast-paced action.

In 1993, Konami also brought Tiny Toon to the Sega Genesis with Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster's Hidden Treasure. This meant that players on both major consoles could enjoy games featuring Buster Bunny and his friends.

Sports and Cancelled Games

The Tiny Toon characters even got into sports! In 1994, Tiny Toon Adventures: Wacky Sports Challenge was released for both the SNES and Game Boy. This game let players compete in various silly sports events. Another sports-themed game, Tiny Toon Adventures: ACME All-Stars, came out for the Sega Genesis in the same year.

Not every game planned makes it to stores. A Tiny Toon Adventures game was being made for the Atari Jaguar console, but it was cancelled in 1994 before it could be released.

Later Adventures: PC and PlayStation

After the 1990s, other game developers started making Tiny Toon games. In 1996, Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster and the Beanstalk was released for PC. This game was developed by Terraglyph Interactive Studios.

Terraglyph also created games for the PlayStation. These included Tiny Toon Adventures: The Great Beanstalk in 1998 and Tiny Toon Adventures: Toonenstein in 1999. These games brought the cartoon characters to a new generation of consoles.

Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance Titles

The Tiny Toon gang continued their adventures on handheld devices. The Game Boy Color received Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Saves the Day in 2001, made by Warthog. Another Game Boy Color game, Tiny Toon Adventures: Dizzy's Candy Quest, also came out in 2001.

For the Game Boy Advance, Tiny Toon Adventures: Wacky Stackers was released in 2001. The last known Tiny Toon Adventures game was Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster's Bad Dream, which came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002. This game was developed by Treasure.

Unreleased Console Games

Like the Atari Jaguar game, some console games were planned but never released. Tiny Toon Adventures: Defenders of the Universe was a game planned for several consoles, including PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube, but it was cancelled in 2002.
