List of tallest buildings in the Waterloo Regional Municipality facts for kids
The Waterloo Regional Municipality is a big area in Southern Ontario, Canada. It includes the cities of Waterloo, Kitchener, and Cambridge, plus some smaller towns. Over 590,000 people live here!
Kitchener is currently building many new, tall buildings. It's a huge building boom, like never before for a city its size in Canada. As of 2020, the region has over 60 buildings taller than 50 meters (about 164 feet). Many more are planned or being built. Most of these super tall buildings are in downtown Kitchener.
The tallest building already finished in Kitchener is the DTK Condos. It stands at 131 meters (430 feet) and has 39 floors. This makes it the tallest building in Canada between the cities of Mississauga and Winnipeg! Waterloo also has many tall buildings, especially near its universities.
The tallest building being built right now in Waterloo Region is TEK Tower in Kitchener. It will be 146 meters (479 feet) tall with 45 floors. By July 2023, there were over 180 tall buildings being built, approved, or planned in the region. Kitchener has about half of these new projects.
Soon, Station Park E will be the tallest building in Kitchener and the whole region, reaching 175 meters (574 feet) with 50 floors. But even that will be topped by the 50 Borden Ave S development, which is planned to have 57 floors! This building boom is happening partly because of the new ION LRT train system and many tech companies moving to Kitchener.

This list shows the tallest buildings in the Waterloo Region that are at least 35 meters (about 115 feet) tall. We measure their height including spires and cool architectural parts, but not just antennas.

- The heights for "The Metz" buildings are expected to increase, but the exact new heights are not public yet. We know they won't be taller than 38 floors.
