The Little Buffalo River is a small river in Tennessee, United States. It flows for about 18 miles (29 kilometers). This river is a branch, or tributary, of the Buffalo River.
The Little Buffalo River is part of a larger river system. Its waters eventually join the Duck River, then the Tennessee River, and finally the Ohio River. All these rivers eventually flow into the mighty Mississippi River.

Where the River Starts
The Little Buffalo River begins in northern Lawrence County, Tennessee. It starts near a place called Laurel Hill. This is where the river's journey begins.
Its Journey and Friends
As the Little Buffalo River flows, it meets other smaller streams. These streams are called tributaries. Two important ones are Jacks Branch and Chief Creek.
Jacks Branch
Jacks Branch flows close to the Natchez Trace Parkway. This parkway is a historic road. Along Jacks Branch, you can find picnic spots, walking trails, and restrooms. It's a nice place for people to visit.
Chief Creek
Chief Creek also crosses the Natchez Trace Parkway. The Little Buffalo River itself also flows under this parkway.
Where the River Ends
The Little Buffalo River's journey ends in Lewis County, Tennessee. Here, it flows into the larger Buffalo River. This meeting point is close to State Route 99.
