Fun Activities at Little Cultus Lake
Little Cultus Lake is a fantastic spot for outdoor adventures, especially if you love fishing or camping!
Fishing Fun
The lake is well-known for its great fishing. You can catch two main types of fish here: Rainbow trout and brook trout. For a while, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife used to add brook trout to the lake, but they stopped in 1997. This means brook trout are a bit harder to find now than rainbow trout.
- Fish Sizes: Brook trout are usually 8 to 12 inches (20 to 30 cm) long. Sometimes, you might even catch one as big as 16 inches (41 cm)!
- Fishing Methods: The most popular ways to fish on the lake are Fly fishing, bank fishing (fishing from the shore), and trolling (fishing from a moving boat).
- Boat Speed Limit: To make fishing easier and safer for everyone, boats on Little Cultus Lake have a speed limit of 10 miles per hour (16 km/h). This low speed limit also makes the lake perfect for fishing from kayaks or float tubes.
Camping and Boating
If you want to stay a while, Little Cultus Lake has a campground. It offers 31 campsites where you can set up your tent or park your RV. There's also a paved boat launch, making it easy to get your boat into the water. The campground and boat launch are located on the southeast side of the lake.
