Journey of the Little River
The Little River begins near a place called West Bowdoin. It starts where two smaller streams, Fisher Stream and Purington Brook, meet. From there, the river flows south.
It eventually joins the Androscoggin River. This meeting point is just east of Lisbon Falls.
River Boundaries
The Little River is important because it forms a natural border. It separates two counties in Maine: Sagadahoc County and Androscoggin County.
The river also divides several towns. On its west side is the town of Lisbon. On its east side are the towns of Bowdoin and Topsham.
