The Little River is a small but important river in southeastern New Hampshire, United States. It flows for about 10.4 miles (16.7 km). This river is a tributary, meaning it flows into a larger river. The Little River joins the Lamprey River.

The Lamprey River then flows into the Great Bay. From there, the water travels through the Piscataqua River watershed and eventually reaches the huge Atlantic Ocean. So, the Little River is a small part of a much bigger water journey!

The River's Journey

The Little River begins in the town of Nottingham. Its starting point is the water flowing out of Mendum's Pond. This pond is like the river's birthplace.

Flowing Through Towns

After leaving Mendum's Pond, the river flows south. It passes through another body of water called Nottingham Lake. This lake helps to slow down the river's flow.

Reaching the Lamprey River

From Nottingham Lake, the Little River turns and flows east. It continues its journey until it meets the Lamprey River. This meeting point is close to the center of Lee. The Little River adds its water to the Lamprey, helping it grow bigger on its way to the ocean.
