Little Spangle Lake is a beautiful, small lake found high up in the mountains of Idaho. It is located in Elmore County. This special lake is nestled within the amazing Sawtooth Mountains. These mountains are part of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area.

Little Spangle Lake is known as an alpine lake. This means it is a lake found at a very high elevation in the mountains. It is also a glacial lake. This means it was formed by the movement of huge sheets of ice, called glaciers, many years ago.

The lake sits at an elevation of about 8,590 feet (2,618 meters) above sea level. It is a small lake, about 0.24 miles (0.39 km) long and 0.17 miles (0.27 km) wide. The lake has three small islands. Water flows into and out of the lake from the Middle Fork Boise River.
You can find Little Spangle Lake where several trails meet. These trails are part of the Sawtooth National Forest. The lake is just a short distance downstream from another lake called Spangle Lake.
