Ljupčo Jordanovski (born 13 February 1953 – died 7 October 2010) was an important person from North Macedonia. He was a seismologist, which means he studied earthquakes. He was also a well-known politician.

Early Life and Learning
Ljupčo Jordanovski was born in a town called Štip. He studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Zagreb. Later, he earned his PhD from the University of Southern California in 1985. A PhD is a very high university degree.
His Work in Politics
Jordanovski was a member of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia political party. He became the Speaker of the Assembly on 18 November 2003. The Speaker of the Assembly is like the leader of the country's parliament. This person helps make sure laws are discussed and passed.
Becoming Acting President
The constitution of North Macedonia says that if the president cannot do their job, the Speaker of the Assembly takes over. This is what happened when President Boris Trajkovski sadly died in a plane crash.
On 26 February 2004, Ljupčo Jordanovski became the acting president. He served as the temporary leader of the Republic of Macedonia until 12 May 2004. He did not run in the next presidential election. After his time as acting president, he continued to be the Speaker of the Assembly until 2 August 2006.
Representing His Country
On 6 July 2006, Jordanovski was chosen to be the Ambassador of North Macedonia to the United States of America. An ambassador is a special representative of a country in another country. Their job is to help build good relationships between the two nations. However, he was called back by his government at the end of December that year. Ljupčo Jordanovski passed away unexpectedly in Skopje.
