Llanos is a small community, also known as a barrio, located in the town of Lajas, Puerto Rico. In 2010, about 675 people lived there.
A Look at Llanos's History
Puerto Rico became a territory of the United States after the Spanish–American War in 1898. This happened because of a peace agreement called the Treaty of Paris of 1898.
Soon after, in 1899, the United States government counted all the people living in Puerto Rico. They found that the combined population of Llanos and a nearby barrio called Palmarejo was 1,160 people.
