If you enjoy fishing, Llyn Dinas is a great place to visit! The lake is known for having good populations of both salmon and trout. Many anglers come here to try and catch these fish.

The Story Behind the Name

The name Llyn Dinas comes from a nearby rocky hill called Dinas Emrys. This hill is just downstream from the lake. People have found the remains of old forts and buildings on Dinas Emrys, some dating back to medieval times.

There's also a special rock near the lake called Carreg yr Eryr. This means "The stone of the eagle" in Welsh. Back in 1198, a document said this rock marked where three ancient areas of Wales met. These areas were called cantrefs, which were like old districts or regions.

A writer named Giraldus Cambrensis wrote about this rock. He said that an eagle used to perch on it once a week. This eagle was believed to predict important events or gatherings between the people from the three cantrefs.
